about

Bass Drop is a four track EP released on Pyramind Records that features four talented up and coming producers from the Pyramind Alumni network. Each artist brings a different take on their passion for creating bass music. Sounds of classic dubstep, neuro, electro and riddim are spanned in this composite of works. Subwoofer recommended!

Notes from the artists about these tracks:

Singe - Filth Merchants
Filth Merchants draws from extensive sound design techniques, Inspired by the music of producers like Kursa, Koan Sound, and Rusko. The track is an ode to heavy electronic bass music pushing new boundaries with a nod to its roots. Dubstep vibes with a halftime spin, a staple of what you can expect from Singe.

B Wiley - Mimic

Mimic was conceived amidst many sound design experiments and takes inspiration from sci-fi video games. The visual idea is an amorphous alien creature slowly moving about as it shifts and mutates form. This track combines heavy neuro bass elements with the lighter, ethereal texture of vocal melodies and synths. This is an essential theme in B Wiley's music, a balance between dark and light. Similar artists include Culprate and Seppa.

Wolfsonbience - Flight Space Camp

Flight Space Camp was inspired by so many other projects Wolfsonbience is creating at the moment. The theme of the song is related to artists like Unlimited Gravity, Project Aspect, and Bass Physics. The sound design is inspired by guitar, piano, cello, sound design sessions, and making songs that have limitless possibilities. Experimenting with new ways of making sounds that can ultimately bring music to the next level is an inspiration for everyone to benefit from. Combining guitar riffs and synth lines into electronic music has made the physics of the song change. Flight Space Camp is a great song with a lot of innovative sound design.

SIDIOUSVIBES - CRY

CRY was inspired by a moment in time where one is experiencing a great deal of anger and depression. The idea of the track is about getting too deep in your head and coming across this negative energy that swirls around relentlessly until it forms this abominable amalgamation that inevitably consumes you whole. The track combines digital and organic elements ranging from Trance style synths and heavy Riddim drops to textured atmospherics and processed orchestral harmonies. The track supports SIDIOUSVIBES’ overall idea and sound of overcoming negativity by facing your fears and acknowledging it exists in the first place. Similar artists may include MARAUDA and MUST DIE!.
